Tara Nate, MSN, APRN, PMHNP-BC,
Psychaitric Nurse Practitioner
Tara Nate is a board-certified psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner, dedicated to providing compassionate and comprehensive care to her patients across their lifespan. She prioritizes using a holistic, or whole person approach, when addressing her patient’s wellness goals. This includes not only focusing on their mental and emotional needs but also on their physical, spiritual, and social needs. She uses a trauma informed approach and aims to empower her patients to lead fulfilling lives.

Tara offers medication management for many common mental health conditions including ADHD, anxiety, depression, OCD, and PTSD. She has a special interest in women’s mental health including reproductive/perinatal psychiatry and major life transitions. She often includes multiple brief psychotherapy modalities within her medication management appointments. Her favorite therapy approaches are motivational interviewing, social rhythm, intrapersonal, cognitive behavioral, and psychoeducation. She encourages evidence based adjunctive treatments like purposeful movement, enhanced nutrition, and light/dark therapies.
Tara is a lifelong learner and loves what she does! While she began her career in neuroscience and neurosurgery, she was drawn to psychiatry. She has a natural curiosity for how and why the mind works. She too has endured hardships in her own life which have strengthened her ability to connect with her patients on a level that only lived experience can create. In her free time she enjoys trying out new recipes, hiking trails, and spending time with her family and pets.
Tara can't wait to meet with you in person or virtually!
