Kelee is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist with a Bachelor’s Degree in both Biology and Psychology from Whitworth University in Spokane, WA. She continued her education at East Carolina University obtaining a Master’s Degree in Marriage and Family Therapy in 2020. Kelee has experience working with individuals, children, couples, and families in outpatient, integrated, and community-based settings. She is passionate about relational issues and how they impact one’s role in social, educational, and work environments.
While in the Master’s program at ECU, Kelee practiced through a strengths-based and solution-focused lens, laying the groundwork for her therapeutic philosophy today. Kelee believes all individuals are capable and resourceful. She works collaboratively with clients to reach goals in a non-judgmental setting. Kelee utilizes a variety of therapeutic approaches including: CBT, TFCBT, solution-focused, emotion-focused, and systemic theories. She specializes in finding therapeutic relief for those struggling with trauma, grief, adjustment to life events, anxiety, and relationships.
Kelee understands that conventional therapeutic methods are not for everyone; sometimes people respond better when they are being active. The Mind and Body office allows her the space to expand upon conventional talk therapy by giving clients the ability to individually tailor their therapeutic needs.
Kelee was born and raised in Washington state. She moved to North Carolina in 2018 to pursue her Master’s Degree and professional licensure. Relationships are important to Kelee, which is why she enjoys spending time with family and friends as much as possible. She is a former collegiate athlete and sports are an integral part of her life. In her free time, Kelee enjoys watching and playing sports and will happily be on your team! Kelee enjoys being outdoors and you can often find her walking her dog, Laila, or going for a run on one of the many beautiful spring and summer days North Carolina has to offer.
Since joining the Mind & Body Therapeutic Connections team, Kelee decided to continue her passion for sports and activity by pursuing certification in Personal Training and Group Fitness. She is excited about doing two things she loves in one setting: psychotherapy and physical fitness. She will empowering you and cheer you on as you begin (or continue) your fitness journey.
